Carman Romano accepted to Oxford Paleography Course

Carman Romano has been accepted into the Lincoln College Summer Course in Greek Palaeography at Lincoln College, Oxford. The school is quite competitive, so please congratulate Carman on this award.

We at the Center were saddened to hear the news of the death of Christian Habicht at the age of 92. Prof. Habicht was a professor in the School of Historical Studies at the Institute for Advanced Study and was a friend of the Center.

Frank Coulson promoted to Distinguished Professor

Frank Coulson, Professor of Classics and Director of Palaeography for the Center, has been promoted to the rank of Distinguished Professor of Classics. Professor Coulson has published extensively in classical reception, particularly on the medieval and humanistic school tradition on Ovid.

Texts and Contexts

In 2018, the Center will be changing the format of Texts and Contexts from a two-day conference to a one-day seminar.  We hope this change will allow for a more intensive and focused examination of a particular topic and that this will prove of benefit in particular to our graduate students
